Tax Dome Client Portal App - Upload Instructions
I provide a TaxDome client account to all of my clients on day 1. TaxDome is a comprehensive and effective tool that we’ll use for everything from task lists to document uploads to signing your tax returns. It’s important that every client familiarize themselves with TaxDome. Each client should download the smartphone app. Be sure to download the one labeled Client Portal, as there’s a separate one for Tax Preparers. Also, you’ll have to activate your TaxDome account in a browser window before you can log into the app.
From the app Home screen, you can use Quick Links or the menu bar on the left. You can use the app to review Chats, pay invoices, upload documents, and more!
To most effectively and efficiently upload your documents:
Pick Upload Documents from the Home Page quick links, or access it via the menu bar on the left.
Choose Scan Document from the drop down menu.
Snap an image like you're taking a photo, then use the tool that automatically appears to edit or resize if needed. When finished, click Done. You'll see the scan drop to the bottom right corner with a number indicating how many pages have been done.
Continue step 3 until all pages are scanned in. When you're ready to upload, click on that box with the number of pages.
Use this last screen to edit, add, or delete pages if needed. When ready, select Upload. It'll upload all pages as one pdf document.
Some people may prefer to separate their scans (e.g. to upload long statements separately) while others find it more convenient to upload everything in one large document. I'm good with either. However, uploading one page at a time or in any format other than pdf costs everyone a lot of time. I no longer accept documents in HEIC format or as email attachments in any format.
